Dr Jamal A Khan is a renowned immunotherapist from India.
Dr Khan graduated from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Aligarh, India, with an MBBS degree. He started his MBBS degree in 1985.
He later completed his MD degree in Medicine and Microbiology from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Aligarh, India in the year 1996.
During his study of medical microbiology, he got very interested in the immune system, especially the dendritic cells.
He has a passion for teaching and education and was a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru (JN) Medical College of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Aligarh, India.
He was a professor of immunology in the Department of Medical Microbiology.
He started teaching in the year 1995 and taught till 2005.
While teaching, he also focused on the study of immunology. He worked on the dendritic cells to form a new immunotherapy approach.
In 2004, he opened his lab in Delhi, focusing on cancer therapy using dendritic cells and animal model systems.
He became the chairman of the Institute of Cellular Therapies in 2004.
