Dr. Vijan is a pioneer in his field as he was the one who initiated many new procedures like the first to implant the AICD in Bombay, first to perform the main drug-eluting stenting in Bombay, first to operate the technique of dual-chamber pacing in India, first to work on AXXESS bifurcation stenting in Asia and has been elected as a Proctor for AXXESS bifurcation stents. He has been at the forefront of Interventional Cardiology with implantation of the intracoronary stent.

He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology (FESC), Endovascular society of coronary interventions, and Maharashtra Medical Council of India. He has completed his graduation and post-graduation from the reputed Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai followed FRCP from the UK. Received the prestigious Hiranandani Oration Award for his contributions to interventional cardiology in India.
